Coppelia Jane

She will capture your imagination, break your heart, and lead you to reckless abandonment with one flash of her steely blue eyes. A chameleon of style, Coppelia's acts draw uopn her training in classical ballet, fire-eating and torture and aerial hoop.  Coppelia has recently been named as 'Tipped for the Top' by the international publication Burlesque Bible. She has added the titles of Miss Burlesque QLD 2011, Miss Pin-Up MBA 2011 and People's Choice StarRae Miss Burlesque 2009 to her credentials, which also include high profile performances in the Australian Burlesque Festival, Gangsters Ball, Brisbane Festival and a national tour with the Cannonball.

What made you want to enter Miss Burlesque Australia 2013?

I decided to enter again this year as a challenge to myself. I have deemed 2013 as the year of dreaming big and going after those goals that I have only dreamt of achieving, and Miss Burlesque Australia fell into that category.

Do you feel your strength lies in Classic, Neo or Unique style?

Category wise, I have always felt more comfortable in the modern genres. However, I do have a very big soft spot for all three of my routines this year, so I am rather excited to showcase them.

Do you have a signature move?

I often use surrealist themes, golden age nostalgia and tongue in cheek debauchery.

Eva Vivacia

Storyteller. Vixen. Sweetheart. Queen!

Eva Vivacia is Brisbane's current reigning 'Queen of Seduction' and has been described as the 'Quintessential Burlesque Babe' possessing a bump and grind that will blow your mind. Since busting on the Brisbane Burlesque scene in 2012, Eva has been making audiences gasp in delight and blush with glee as her style of tease certainly seems to please. 

Eva enjoys eating fire, High Tea Crafternoons and penning Adult Erotica! Oh my!

What made you want to enter Miss Burlesque Australia 2013?

I have been lusting after the Brisbane Burlesque Industry for the last 4 years, attending all shows and secretly wishing I was one of the Burly Q Dames on stage. Since joining Lady Marlene's School of the Arts Lena Marlene gave me the performance opportunities, professional critique and confidence to enter the competition. Both Lena, and Miss Burlesque QLD 2011, Coppelia Jane encouraged me to enter. I admire their professionalism and respect their opinions, more so than my own self-doubt, so I applied and was accepted!

Do you feel your strength lies in Classic, Neo or Unique style?

I was originally attracted to Neo, as the creative freedom is massive! Since researching the Classic style, spending hours on YouTube, watching Golden Era Films, I must admit that I am smitten with the allure of Classic Burlesque now too. Plus, Giant Feather Fans and Boas are easy to fall in love with!

Do you have a signature move?

I would like to think that my Shimmy is thrilling, however I keep being told by audience members that my facial expressions are captivating. I should listen to my fans and say that my signature move is to Emote!

Miss Ruby Little

Miss Ruby Little may be much like Led Zeppelin, has never won a single competition she has entered BUTT she is known to have one of the Best Butts in the Brisbane Burlesque Business! It's even come close to starting Bar Brawls! For the past 2 years, Ruby has loved to make her audience laugh and often creates routines which are a little different to the norm.

What made you want to enter Miss Burlesque Australia 2013?

I entered MBA this year after some encouragement from some close friends of mine. If it was not for their belief in me I would never have entered. I also wanted to challenge myself. I tend to do quite a bit of Neo and Comedy so thought this would be a great opportunity for me to expand my skills and take my routines to a new level of awesome.

Do you feel your strength lies in Classic, Neo or Unique style?

I say I feel stronger in the Unique Category. It just make me feel like I can do so much more and be more myself. I'm still trying to figure out how to be 'me' in a classic routine.

Do you have a signature move?

My signature move is honestly making an idiot of myself. I find that the Audience and I have the most fun when I am doing a routine where we can have a laugh.

Simona Lisa

Simona Lisa is a saucy Sydney performer who has been on the burlesque scene for almost a year. Having performed at Red Light Confidential, The Peel, Black Cherry, Cherry Poppers Tease and various corporate events. She will also be performing in the Miss Burlesque Australia Gold Coast Heat. Simona's routines will either fog up your glasses or make you laugh so hard you'll almost wet your pants!

What made you want to enter Miss Burlesque Australia 2013?

The reason I entered MBA was on a whim. As a 'newbie' to the Industry, I wasn't actually expecting to get in but lo and behold it happened! It has given me confidence to try new routines, especially in the Classic, which I have not really ventured into. Plus I got to buy a whole stack of new costumes!

Do you feel your strength lies in Classic, Neo or Unique Style?

In terms of my strength, I would say it is Neo (burlesque) I have a way of engaging with my audience, really being able to make them laugh.

Do you have a signature move?

As for my signature move, besides scratching my minge (no, seriously) I am able to bump and grind pretty damn well!
